Note | The physiocrats' special interest for Catherine II's policies (particularly at the time of Diderot's visit to St. Petersburg) is a known fact. We know that for her part, Catherine concealed her suspicion of the physiocrats, who intended to interfere in state management. This article deals with the Swedish physiocrats' interest for the educational institutions founded by Catherine. The author draws from the private correspondence between the Swedish envoy in St. Petersburg, baron Johan Fredrik von Nolcken (1737-1809), and count Carl Fredrik Scheffer (1715-1786) Dans un numéro thématique intitulé : "Contacts intellectuels, réseaux, relations internationales: Russie, France, Europe, XVIIIe-XXe siècle" |
