*Formalism
NoteSomehow the expression 'dull biography' became 'doll biography' in a Russian translation from O. Henry, and was subsequently reproduced in a widely-used reader of Russian formalist writings. This article asks for the correction of the mistake and for greater critical rigour and common sense in literary criticism
