AbstractThe treasure was last seen in 1945, but then disappeared. Countless treasure-hunters have searched cellars, caves and lakes in more than 130 attempts to find it. But although German experts said yesterday that they believed the newly-discovered mosaic was genuine, it was doubtful whether it would provide fresh clues in the trail to the rest of the Amber Room.
