AbstractThe famed "Amber Room' of a czarist palace in Russia - stolen by the Nazis in World War II - has been found in a Soviet military base in eastern Germany. The room was one of the great master-pieces of prerevolutionary Russian artisanry. Large wall panels and other amber furnishings were made from rare, honeycolored resin. The treasures were stripped by German soldiers from the famous chamber in Catherine's Palace at Tsarskoye Selo.
