AbstractThe "Amber Room' of a Czarist palace in Russia has been found in a Soviet military base in eastern Germany. The room - in Catherine's Palace outside St. Petersburg - was one of the great masterpieces of pre-revolutionary Russian art, along with the Faberge eggs and the Czar's jewels. It consists of large wall panels and other furnishings made from the rare, honey-colored resin.
